A Little Bit About Me
About Me
I am a fifty-two year old Canadian Egyptian who grew up all over the world: Canada, Brazil, Kuwait, Sudan and USA. I have lived in Ottawa, Canada for the past twenty years, where I raised my three beautiful and independent adult children on my own after leaving an unsuccessful marriage. I am also the grandmother of four playful grandchildren.
I currently work at a local non-profit in Ottawa. I am a full-figured lady who is physically active and energetic and enjoys playing tennis and swimming on a regular basis. Since my children have all left home, I am at a time in my life of personal growth and reflection. I am a good listener who is giving and supportive to both family and friends. I am honored to volunteer in the community and I especially enjoy coaching and mentoring youth and young families, particularly in the areas of parenting.
I have gained a reputation for my cooking and I take pleasure preparing meals from different cuisines (e.g.: Thai, Indian, Middle-Eastern) for family and friends as well as teaching young people how to prepare healthy meals. Culturally, I consider myself more a Canadian Muslimah than an Egyptian Muslimah. I enjoy socializing with Muslims from all parts of the world and prefer those who are also open and not attached to a single ethnicity or culture.

What I Am Looking For
He is a gentle, kind-hearted companion with similar values, such as being family-oriented and connected to community. Someone who is positive and has good character and a calm temperament. A gentleman who balances dunya and akhirah and wants the support of a companion on this daily journey.
I am open to getting to know someone from any ethnic culture. As for age, I am open to someone younger or older than myself. To me age is just a number; it really depends on one’s maturity, confidence and perspective on life.
Ideally I would be happy to continue living in Ottawa, or Canada, but I am open to relocating, especially to warmer climates :)
